Proof that time is not an illusion

My baby girl had a milestone birthday this week.
Somehow 5 years had gone ‘poof’.

If there is anything mommyhood has taught me is that time is NOT an illusion - and a child’s growth may be the most in-your-face measurement to this construct. 

It’s one of those things that I despised hearing pre-parenthood - “when you have a kid, you’ll understand”...

When an auto-pilot narrative in psychedelic spaces is “time is an illusion” - what do you choose to believe?

So I got annoyed at those statements back then… And I get to be still in humility now. 

When you look at your kid’s picture from just last week and not just see how much they have changed - but how much everything else may have/can be different, too. 

You get to ask, What exactly have I done in this week to deepen my engagement with and cherish every single moment?

How much pain can remorse hold?

What about the need to fully surrender the preciousness of the past?

And this universe is so clever… Sooo clever!

Because while the never-again youth is busy making its rapid disappearing act
You also get more of what you love most
More skin and flesh
More personality
More verbiage
More definition, of everything
More capacity, ability
More curiosity, desires, hopes and dreams
More critical thinking and sass
More engagement, defiance and humor
More perfectly imperfect, absolutely perfect
More human

Sometimes, oftentimes, more You -
Literally, it’s like you (the parent) has multiplied - 

Talk about the parenthood being the greatest psychedelic trip of all time, an infinite hall of sacred mirrors

And we get to relive our innerdimensional & multifaceted soul over and again
A contraction and expansion, death and rebirth and universal sacred geometry at its top game.

Beautiful, pristine and divine intelligence that is our children… Our greatest teachers. 

And somehow, like all unique snowflake parents will tell you,
It seems I received the most divine of them all - 

As affirmed by the offering that was made at our altar this morning - 

oh, the cosmic silliness of it all.
